Hello, y’all! My name is Stephanie Grimm, and I’m the Art & Art History Librarian here at GMU, and a current student in the Art History MA program. While my background is in the visual arts, I’ve worked in libraries for over 14 years in various roles, and have an interest in how digital technologies and methods support/undermine/trouble the practices of artists and art historians.

Within the MA program, I’m particularly interested in looking at everything around arts of the book — artists’ books, illustration, and graphic narrative — and exploring how the idea of books as fine art objects evolved, and the collection and display practices of artists books in libraries. I’m also interested in comics and comics librarianship, and have done some work around web archiving and webcomics (comics designed for, and disseminated through, websites and web applications), which I’m hoping to continue through and after this class.
